  1. They desperately need vets who know how to win faceoffs, keep a lead and play defense. He adds depth and experience and didnt cost much at all. The younger guys will also learn from him for the future.

  2. So he's on pace for 12 points ? Hope change in environment ignites spark. One good thing is he won't be intimidated by french media because has played here before.

  3. Possible big upside if he can regain form of last 10 years. For the 2nd he acquired with Laine for Jordan Harris? Another Banger from Kent Hughes!

  4. Danault is 5 years older and getting 2 million more than he made with us last time around. Sunk cost fallacy

  5. Was kind of interesting that the Kings easily traded Danault considering Kopitar is retiring and they don't have much center depth besides Byfeld. Gotta note upon looking up many drafted goalies in the past 6 seasons, just about all of the successful ones had 2-3 years in a pro league that is not the NHL (AHL, KHL, euro leagues, etc.). Considering this, it would be the best interests that Fowler play more in the AHL for his overall development and the Habs need to fix the structuring of their defensive system. Also, I think the Habs should look for a another goaltending coach, I don't have much confidence in Eric Raymond.

  6. NO SURPRISE here. I smelled trade the minute I heard that Danault had the "Flu" and he stayed home in LA during the short road trip the Kings just wrapped up. I have a lot to say about this trade, but I'll leave it to John, the pro. Thanks for your insight into this and everything else you do! ☮
