And for what $20 MIl per …if not approach him and tell him his time is over here….don't want a trade then send him home and tell him you'll see him in 3 years…Is Willie worth 11.5…yes he can score, rest of his game is non existent….Trade him or send him home….really the Leafs is the business….The owners need to get out from under these "Super Star" players….or if you believe it's NOT them then it's the rest of the players, or the coaches…..If you're going to keep Willie and Auston then trade the rest of the players that get any worthwhile return….especially any on expiring contracts…recoup a 1st rounder or 2 perhaps….tank this season and hope for Top 5 pick, which they get to use. While I want to agree with you on the nonsense Praag brings up about way back in the day, Praag's general complaint about our organizations homegrown depth and throwing away futures is a big issue for the competitiveness of this organization in the next 10 years and your analytics complaint about him is your reluctance to try to follow the bigger point. You should really only go "all in" with a group for 2 or 3 years (aka sell your assets at a discount because you believe in the group). What has this core leadership group shown that indicates they are worth going all in for again? I would argue that Florida series last year showed you once and for all they do not have the clutch factor in their leadership group. Zack I know you this but it's been 10 years now for this leadership. Accountability isn't sitting guys, it's trading guys because they won't take you anywhere. Jamie Richardson said it best, when you're managing and shits not going right, you need to make a serious change up and we've done about every type change up you can do besides hard balling guys and forcing them out, even if it gets ugly for the betterment of the group

Matthews is a loser, he thinks they played well the last two games. He is great for team US since it makes it easier for Canada to win. On the leafs, if they arent gonna trade him, make him 3C for as a defensive centre and put Laughton at 1C. Laughton would be a better Captqin too.
Leafs need to keep Berube. If they go to the bottom they can grab McKenna. Matthews will never be the same .
