Defense was atrocious tonight especially in the second. But we bounced back and at least got a point. Shootouts suck tbh

I have never seen a team that breaks sticks as much as the Habs this year. Unfortunately it often leads to a choice goal scoring opportunity for the other team.
A lot of complaints about 3-on-3 and shootouts. This is the regular season people. The 3-on-3 format opens up the ice for more fast-paced hockey! And, in 75% of those games, that open ice results in an OT win, making a shootout unnecessary. Back in the day, a tie resulted in 1-point and whether you lose in OT, or a shootout, it does not affect how many points are awarded to the losing team. This format makes for more exciting games and imposes a time limit to a regular season game, so games dont go on forever (not practical because of travel, cost and tv commitments). In the playoffs, where it matters, there is no shootout.
Every game, broken sticks become a factor. Can't they make better sticks?
