@Avalanche du Colorado

1. The fact that Mackinnon is so much more effective 5 vs 5 and defensively should be enough. McDavid is more flashy and piles up more points thanks to power play, ok.

  2. McDavid is a defensive turd . The glaze is hilarious so you only watch highlights? Watch his defensive gaffes that lead to opposition goals it's right up there with Bouchard. Happens waaaaaay too often. I know kids have short attention spans and can't follow entire games but seriously watch them actually play .

  3. You cant have this conversation without bringing Kucherov into it too. Im an Avs fan, and im biased but its a 3 man race over the last 3 years or so

  4. I'd rather we talk 'the best two-way', 'the best offensive forward', etc.

    McDavid, Draisaitl, MacKinnon, Barkov, etc. all these guys are so much fun to watch. Even if you can and should make the argument that McDavid is 'the generational player', there are layers to this.

  5. You can argue that McDavid is the best player offensively. Mackinnon is the best player overall. Mackinnon is playing great defensively while McDavid focuses on offense

  6. McDavid is a fantastic player, the Oilers much like the Maple Leafs have no defense or goaltending. MacKinnon carries the team and his teammates are worried more about disappointing him then getting checked. MacKinnon 1 for 1, McDavid 0 for 2 on Cups.

  7. I think it's accurate to say that. McDavid is the most talented hockey player in the world. And Mackinnon is the best hockey player in the world.

  8. Bigger picture is that both are neck and neck, but MacKinnon has a cup to his name and may win another this season. He’s with a team that will be contenders for years to come. It’s like comparing Ronaldo with Messi, both are among the top elites and have world class talent, but Messi won the most coveted cup in their sport. I’d rather have a cup to my name any day of the week.

  9. Well Barkov should get mentioned. He really is the most winning player in the playoffs. Panthers are a true 2 way team.

  10. Its an impossible conversation at time. Depending on the year. Earlynin their careers McDavid easily has the edge, over the last 3 years Nate has been the better player. McDavid has always received more exposure playing for a team in Canada compared to Nate and that helps him in these conversations.

  11. mcdavid is better coming from a bruins fan, all you gotta do is look who they play with. MacKINNON has necas, the best dman in the league makar, toews, girard, landeskog, nelson. mcdavid has Draisaitl, hyman and maybe bouchard

  12. if it wasnt for the pp mcmuffin would have like 10 points every season lol . i think in 2022 like 80% of his points were on the pp

  13. MacKinnon wins over McDavid, he is a better goal scorer and doesn't have Drai to feed on the power play. Goals win games (period)

  14. Nathan MacKinnon is the best player in the world. Proven, multiple times.

    You don't have to like it, but it's not incorrect.

  15. Mack is the best, and has been for 3 seasons now. McDavid is amazing of course, but saying it’s “his league” is laughable at this point.

  16. I know they don’t ask how, they ask how many, but honestly HOW McDavid scores is what separates him for me. The guy is just a highlight machine. And he also does get more points lol. If you asked Nate, he’d say 97 is better. This is coming from a die hard Avs fan
