Happy New Year!!!!
Let’s be honest, Luchanko had another bad game in the semis, and was on the ice for another bad goal against. In 6 games only 1 assist and a -5, while averaging only 11 minutes of ice time. If he was just unnoticeable that would be an upgrade to where he is right now. Maybe he makes the NHL some day, but not in the top 6 and given the Flyers passed on Buium to pick Luchanko, and Buium was the center piece that got the Wild Quinn Hughes, this is a really bad look for the Flyers. I believe Briere didn’t pick Buium because of his agent and if true that’s a fireable offense. You just can’t sugarcoat this, Luchanko barely getting ice time in his second year in world juniors is really a bad look. I barely saw him in the 3rd period of the semifinal game, except when his line gave up the 4th Czech goal after Canada had just tied the game.
Martone is a Bully…..🦾
I will be in the building Tuesday night. I will boo loudly and shout some crazy out of pocket shit.
Also trade Dvorak at deadline no matter what happens between now and then. To not do so would be a major mistake and disappointment.
Great show as usual, I have a non hockey question. Being an old guy I was wondering if Bill(a legend in his own right)is any relation to the legendary Al Meltzer?
I think Risto is an underrated defender. He is steady with flashes of really smart plays. There are defensemen I would trade way before him.
I think Alex Wennberg's recent contract extension of 3x$6.0M is going to be the comp for Dvorak. I'm really torn on if it's the right move but it makes sense. He'll get that in free agency this year if he doesn't get it from us. He fits in here. I'm just curious how our forward group shakes out in the next year with all of these prospects banging on the door.
Happy 2026!
Y'all need to update your comments on Risto. He hasn't run around out of position since his second season with the Flyers. He's starting to rush the puck and join in rushes like he did last year and actually getting driving to the net. Hope that continues and his point production finally picks up because he's earning it. He's a real difference maker out there.
I said it before but they are going to have to take Barkey off the prospects list cause that dude ain't going anywhere else anytime soon
