    Hahahaha what a shit return

    Sell the team Edwards

  2. FinkBass420

I think Andersson fucked us by not signing the extension in Boston.

  3. Cokejunes

Of course it was gonna be a dumb trade. Of course it was.

  4. LimitAsXApproaches0

Terrible return when considering what this team needs

  5. cgy_bluejays

Assuming he was in fact refusing to extend anywhere else this is probably as good as it would get for a rental

  6. Little-Aide-5396

A 29 year old defenseman. I don’t even care that he’s obviously not the main piece. Just hilarious that we acquired a 29 year old player. Better be flipping him at the deadline for literally anything.

  7. AllCopsAreBozos

Getting a 29 year old as a return doesn’t scream rebuild/retool…. oh my lord

  8. WhichColourIsYours

The 2nd round turns into a 2028 first round if they win? Guess we painfully root for them to hoist the cup

  9. sociallyrestarted

Not only is the return absolute ass, but we also acquire a mid RHD? I thought the whole point was to open up a spot for a younger guy

  10. Beta1224

I swear if Vegas is the only team Andersson is willing to sign with, he will lose all amount of good will I had for him and deserves to be booed every time he’s in Calgary

  11. thebigkitten_

That’s a terrible return. First time I’ve doubted Craig as a GM. Over played his hand and let the player control the situation.

  12. KrolWorld

« Conroy is getting younger, just look at his record! »

  13. Altomah

That’s as close to 2 first round picks as we would get

  14. Tenabrus

So if the trade already involves Vegas’ first round pick how does the second round pick become a first round pick if they win the cup?

  15. Prestigious_Dog602

So Vegas will lose on the cup final this year and win the year after.

  16. noor1717

Thank god a replacement 29 year old dman that will help us not finish bottom 5 and we can trade in two years when his value is completely gone. What a pathetic team.

  17. GrafNebelgeist

    brutal.

an almost 30 year old d-man, and a 7th round d-man. How underwhelming. Couldn’t even get one of their top forward prospects?

Watch Andersson sign an extension soon anyways, just like Hanifin.

  18. BeerLeagueSpode

Let’s see conny try to spin this in the presser 🙄

  19. assassinfred

Yeah Conny deserves the criticism on this one. I refuse to believe this was the best rental offer on the table, especially with retention. He really didn’t learn from the Hanifin fiasco.

  20. sheridanrene

Yikes, I think I would have rather kept him 😭

  21. MeursaultWasGuilty

Was ownership blocking him being moved earlier or something?

  22. ButtersTheDuck

So we have now devalued the pick Hanifin deal, as well as lost Anderson for what we probably could’ve got from any other team. Cool

  23. ChalupaBatman1026

Hoping for Vegas to shit the bed this season…I don’t care if Ras is there.

  24. jghockey13

Would have rather taken an underpay from BOS (1st + B prospect) than this package from VGK. Not only is the Vegas 1st going to be worse than Boston’s but now our 2026 VGK 1st will be worse by a few picks

  25. Actual_Cobbler_6334

Whitecloud is *one* month younger than Andersson… lol.

  26. Sea-Control-8593

Knew the Boston return was too good to be true.

  27. MTBguy1774

Everyone perplexed about Whitecloud’s involvement in the deal. It is a salary favor to the Knights. Whitecloud does not fit the rebuild and is under contract for a number of years. The Knights had to drop somewhere not just for this season but in order to fit Andersson extension in moving forward. Conroy absolutely would have wanted some sort of sweetener in the deal and it may be the college prospect, maybe it’s the conditional 2nd? I don’t know. What I do know is this deal is very mediocre and probably ended up being the only trade partner. Hanifin 2.0.

No matter how you slice it, it is unlikely any of the return for Ras becomes any real significant difference maker on a team that has no difference makers.

  28. Iwannasleep45

I miss the good old days where players have no voice during trades

  29. Brewcity23

So is it stating the obvious that he wouldn’t sign an extension in Boston or Detroit?

  30. Embracat

Well, I’m sure they will learn their lesson this time.

This fucking reeks of what Vegas and Hannifin did.

Feels like side show Bob standing on rakes.

  31. BidwellGetDown

I’ve been one of Conroy’s biggest defenders, but this is pretty indefensible. Unless he has something lined up to flip Whitecloud ASAP, I’m pretty disappointed. At some point just trade Ras to the Stars or anyone else willing to give something for a rental just to make a fucking point. God damn I hate the Knights so much.

  32. EarlGreyTea-Hot

No extension in place is confusing because this is a decent haul for just a rental, but all signs point to him previously wanting to sign in Vegas. So why no extension? I’m gonna be pissed in 6 weeks when he signs an extension and we look like idiots….again (looking at you Hanifin).

This doesn’t help us get any younger either. Whitecloud is the same age as Ras and the picks aren’t even this year. Even if we flip Whitecloud it’s still pushing the timeline further and further down. Not to mention we cannibalize the 1st we’ve got from Vegas this year because we’re helping them get better. I don’t really get it. It must be that Ras wasn’t going to extend right away no matter where he was traded and all the other « rental » offers were shit.

  33. StarDarkCaptain

The trade is fine. People need to relax.

Its not bad….White cloud is a solid 2nd pair guy. Getting a 1st and second is good, and the prospect is okay.

The trade isn’t good either. Whitecloud takes a roster spot from a young guy and doesn’t move the needle. Replaceable. A 1st for Vegas in 2027 will be like 20-30 overall, not great. A 2nd in 2028 is even worse.

There were 100% better deals but we don’t know what was happening behind the scenes. No top prospect is incredibly disappointed, but it could have been worse for a rental.

  34. bigBrady777

I was intially underwhelmed I really don’t think it’s as bad of a return as you guys think though. Whitecloud is a solid enough defenseman that at the least could probably be flipped for another 2nd or 3rd, a first next year and a second, with the possibility of another first. Weibe doesn’t seem like a crazy prospect but you never know he could turn into something. Rasmus might not have wanted to extend in Boston or Detroit and there’s really nothing the flames can do about that.

  35. And of course the Flames eat 50%. What a fucking shit show. Fucking GARBAGE.

  36. Anderson could have played out his year and walked for NOTHING. It’s not bad. Not a home run but considering I’d give it a “B” for now. Let’s see how the pick and prospect turn out.

  37. henryoptional

Ras deserves respect. I wish him well. A GM that treats his players well, is a GM that players will want to play for.

The people that declare winners and losers immediately after a trade need to watch more trade tree videos to see just how unpredictable the future is.

  38. No-Investigator6221

Am I the only one who doesn’t hate this deal? The retention means nothing with it being $2 million for the next few months, and we get a first and a second that could move to a first also. Wiebe doesn’t really change anything but we could flip whitecloud for another solid pick at the deadline, I think this is good asset management for a pending UFA dman
