I’m stoked for Sherwood! They’re gonna go on a tear!

  2. mengel3

Please for the love of god don’t be Desharnais as the depth Dman

  3. Canucksfan2018

Bctv’s Jay janower with the scoop

  4. AirplaneMeow

If this “depth d-man” is Vinny Desharnais I’m gonna throw a fit

  5. NES4EVAR

Happy for him to be playing on a young team on the upswing. Sucks for us, though.

  6. g0kartmozart

I’m good with that. As long as one of those is in the 2026 draft.

  7. Angry_beaver_1867

I’m relieved that the trade was done. That feels like the second step in the rebuild.

  8. Skytte-

Very solid player. He’ll have fun playing in SJ. Good group who plays team hockey. SJ will also love having a guy like him.

not bad, imma miss chief kief so bad, wish him the best

It’s funny, when the report came out that nobody was giving up a first my reaction was « Cool, I’ll take two 2nds »

Solid return, proper commit to the rebuild. Keep cooking, PA!

Also why are people sour on Desharnais coming back? He’s on an expiring contract and being crappy will push us further down the tank. Short term cap dumps to improve value on trades is EXACTLY what we should be looking for!

  11. De_Floppss

Godspeed Chief Kief, hope the young Sharks team leads you to glory

  12. MilkyWxvee

I need yall input from a sharks fan, how good is this deal?

  13. Icestarfish

I bought a Hughes jersey last season…and a Sherwood jersey this season 😭

Good night sweet prince. Hope he tears at up with SJ

  14. itzpiiz

I have a hard time seeing some recently traded people in their future teams jerseys but have no problem picturing him in a sharks uniform

Happy for him, I think he’ll thrive on this young sharks team on the upswing.

    Your tank watch has ended

  15. phantompowered

Well, time to root for him and Celebrini.

  16. HighburyOnStrand

Two seconds and an AHL hump.

More darts for the dart board is good. The return not being limited to the 2026 draft is good.

This is the first move to rebuild on a timeline that isn’t just one year, so that’s positive.

  17. satanic-octopus

Sharks are good vibes, happy for him to be there. Will wait for details on the ‘depth D-man’…

  18. jackfrench9

The most passionate and effort-bringing player we have, now leaves the building. Man, this loss-streak is gonna be brutal. We’re absolutely gutted.

For the greater good obviously, but we are going to be a ROYALLY SHIT hockey team for quite some time.

This is what happens when you play for first-round ticket revenue for ten years without taking your fucking long-term lineup seriously.

  19. infinitez_

Well it was fun while we had him, absolute bulldozer of a player and such a great person as a whole. Hope Chief Kief will go on a ripper there. Makes SJ even more fun to watch – not only Mack and Toff now but also Sherwood too.

  20. ZucchiniNo2986

Need to help future Canucks legend Celebrini

  21. RedHedRay03

SJ has two 2nd round picks this years and one is Colorados. Does anyone know which one it is? Because the difference can be up to 20 spots

  22. littleochre

I hope he is happy there, we will miss you Woody!

  24. rengorengar

you earned that next big contract king!

  25. EpicPotato806

Use both seconds to get the twins!

E: natural pick and sharks pick

  26. Nomad_0024

Doing what they should of done with Boeser and Suter last year. I’ll gladly take the 2 2nds

  27. Queen_Of_InnisLear

Gut punch. He was my favourite player recently.

  28. Razzamatazz14

Gut reaction is that he should have pulled a first. All heart player, physical, scores? Worth more IMHO.

  29. housesoftheholy1

The difference between pick 20-50 is not as big as people think.

Higher the better no shit but we were never getting a top 15. Would always have been a colorado level 1st or high 2nd.

  30. Bomberr17

Two 2nds is not bad as SJ is probably a mid pack team in next couple years. We can always package them to move up or down. Good move for sure.

  31. Duffbagg

A 1st would have been awesome, but ultimately a late 1st and an early 2nd are nearly the same thing, so getting two 2nd-rounders that are *both* potentially high-round picks could arguably end up with a better result than a single 1st. Obviously only time will tell on that, but also having extra 2nd-rounders this year and next improves the flexibility for the team to trade up/down at the draft itself.

Also I was predicting a 2nd and a 3rd, so this is more than expected. I like the trade!

Good luck Chief Kief, you’re an absolute beauty. Go get ’em.

  32. brideofpucky

I know men are supposed to be the emotional ones but I seriously can’t handle this news while I’m ovulating

  33. Apprehensive-Tea4881

I hate this for us but love this for Sherwood. 🥹

  34. WhaleBird1776

This is the part of rebuilding that sucks. Love that dude and he seemed to love playing here.

Wish ya the best chief kief
