Feel just as much nostalgia as when Kane got his ovation. I know the team has long moved on from the glory years but this sort of feels like closure. Me and my dad, may he rest, went to a lot of games together during the cup runs. We were there when Toews fed Kane for the heartbreaker in double OT against the Kings. I’ll hold those moments with me for as long as I live.

Oh Captain, My Captain.

I got more emotional than I thought I would. He led the revival of what was the Worst Franchise in Sports and became my favorite player the first tike I saw him, so I should have expected it. But I wasn’t ready.

My eyes already hurt from being sick and congested. Now this? Come on man

This one broke me. I had so much going on in my life and the constant thing that made me happy was watching Toews and the Hawks go through their iconic dynasty. I’ve lost friends to illness, grew older and apart from friends and others, and grew in my career and with a family of my own now. I’ll never forget how much fun I had and the frustrations I’ve felt along the way to Toews and the team hoisting the cup from the first time to the last time he stepped on the ice as a Hawk. I miss those fucking days man.

You better believe Caleb saw that standing ovation tonight and just got even hungrier!
Love you Toews! OH CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN

What a legend. Dude gave us some of the best and most exciting hockey of our lives.

This would have been the best hockey video today if not for the goalie fight.

Could make an entire second montage of moments that weren’t in this one.

This one made me tear up. Just taking about his return gave me goosebumps. I’m just happy he’s okay and able to play a little longer. First hockey jersey was his. Thank you Captain Serious.

With Caleb Williams in the house too ready to start up his own Chicago dynasty.

This shit made me tear up. Damn. He deserves it all. I’m happy that he gets to finish his career on his own terms. He seems happy and healthy. It doesn’t get better than that!

This is beautiful and obviously so deserved. I love that he started the stoic captain we know and love and couldn’t contain it any longer, you can tell this meant a lot to him. I was bawling watching this and now am tearing up typing this out.

Toews deserved every minute of that 3+ minute standing ovation
Never-Compliant6969
I wish they would have included that time in the playoffs (toward the end of the first cup run, I think) that he was absolutely tilted over a bad call and Seabs gave him a little chat to calm him down. I honestly believe that was a turning point for him and the team. Just a little thing that wasn’t a highlight at all, but it was huge.

I’m so glad Caleb and PCA were in attendance to see how Chicago treats its legends.

Hit me right in the feels. I’ll always treasure those teams and the moments with loved ones watching those guys during that run. Toews, Kaner, Keith, Hossa, all of them.

Had tickets to this game before the season even started. Knew it was gonna be special. Was there for his last game as a Hawk and came full circle tonight.

The numbers be dammed, He is a first ballot hall of famer.
15 years as captain of the Chicago Blackhawks. The longest tenured captain in the history of this 100 year old original 6 team. 3 Stanley cups.
As soon as he hangs up his skates, number 19 is going up in the rafters of the mad house.
