The Leafs still can’t afford to trade for Kadri in season and have it make any sense. This is a pipe dream. Calgary’s not retaining because he has 5 more years on his deal so unless 2 of Domi, Joshua, or Jarnkrok are waiving to go to Calgary (or one of those guys and Maccelli) and then Tanev goes on LTIR, this doesn’t work cap wise, and even then it’s a stretch, plus, you haven’t traded any assets for him yet.
They can’t get Kadri. They couldn’t get him last year, they can’t get him this year.
Man if the Leafs, Jays and Raps got even a quarter of the players they’re rumoured to have interest in, they’d have all star teams.
3 more years of a 36 year old at $7m per.

Kadri is my favorite player. I would love to see him on the Leafs. But at what cost?
This Leafs team is not worth investing in. They just aren’t.
