It’s a shame KK didn’t work out, surprised we aren’t keeping him as a third line center long term after Staal retires — scratching him at this point says everything that needs to be said

  2. Lest we forget, at one point some several seasons ago, we put our beloved Jordan Martinook on waivers — *and nobody claimed him*.

Raleigh was a fresh start in a smaller market than Montreal. I think KK’s « potential » is recognized; he can contribute in some ways but isn’t going to consistently be an impact player. He was drafted too high and that’s not his fault. Taking the offer sheet also isn’t his fault. Some expectations on him due to his draft status and contract have turned out to be unrealistic. But it’s time for the Hurricanes to move on and upgrade an area of need.

Why are we talking like it’s over already, he’s still here 😭😭

I just like the kid and he’s such good friends with Aho and Jarvy it’d be sad to see that torn apart :/

I think it’s not fair to blame him for his contract, or the cost to get him here. I think it is fair to be frustrated that he doesn’t contribute more than he does.

It is fair for us as fans to be annoyed that we haven’t been able to keep key contributors because of his contract, but that’s not his fault, that’s the front office’s fault.

It’s fair for Rod to be frustrated that he doesn’t contribute more and his contract being a reason we couldn’t keep Trocheck or Guentzel.

It’s in everyone’s best interest to move on at this point.
