Le co-animateur de 100% Hockey, John Shannon, s’est joint aux gars et a parlé de l’époque la plus sombre de l’histoire des Canucks, de la durée pendant laquelle Jim Rutherford veut rester avec les Canucks et plus encore.

This isn't the darkest. It was darkest in the beginning. This is the biggest swing from playoffs to the cellar.
Let's hope we commit to the rebuild completely, get a good, young, squad, and climb back into the post season.
John this is best thing to come to front for Canucks. We have many young players plus this year drafts I think TO woluld love this many youth guys. Garland will bring two more. Foote is coaching these kids to come play hard. Things will change next year.
I found the 97-98 team worse for 2 reasons:
1. They weren't even trying. 0 effort.
2. The core players on that team were still in their prime years (20s)- bure, mogilny, linden, mclean, gelinas. naslund wasn't prime nazzy but still young. So you would expect them to be better.
I wouldn’t say this is the darkest era – dark implies no hope. If the Canucks were to somehow get the 5th overall pick, that would be very dark
Yeah I am not sure that filling stadium seats is a measurement for success for anyone other than ownership, and quite frankly the owner is the reason we are in this position today.
teams in this league that i admire were all where the canucks were at one point and went on to greatness. avalanche, lightening, canes, panthers to name a few. this is the most excited i've been for the canucks since the spring of 2011.
Having a competitive nature doesn’t make up for bad decision making
tickets for this season were already all sold. Fans are taking a major hit …$200 avg. tickets and $25 per beer isn't going to sit well next year unless things show some turnaround at the start of the season. At the stadium lately these games are rough to sit through
This management group created this black hole by taking shortcuts, so what really baffles me is why they're being allowed to oversee a rebuild. It sure seems like a lot of smoke-blowing is still going on in Canucksland.
The 80s were terrible. Worse than today, because no one talked about a rebuild. But the worst time in Canucks history has to be the late 90s. That's when there was legitimate talk of the team moving to Seattle. You don't get lower than that.
This is one of the brightest periods of the past 10 years because they're actually headed in a direction instead of just going nowhere.
We were at the NYI game Monday and the place was pretty full. Spirits were higher than I expected too.
Worst Canucks coach ever?….. Bill Laforge
Best Canucks coach ever ?….. Alain Vigneault
Best Canucks GM ever ?….. Patrick Quinn
Darkest eras were being competitive with a mediocre team. At least this team has direction by acknowledging that they need to do a rebuild.
get rid of the geezer and the swede!
get rid of ron maclean his past due date is way past due. We need a new face Ron is no longer respected
Worst season ever by far.
Rutherford and Allvin assembled this last place team. They’ve gotta go, along with EP40 and Demko at the very least.
There was a time, not so long ago, when I didn't miss a single period in a Canucks' season. Now that I have pulled the cable plug, I don't think I've watched a full game at all this year. Sounds like I am not missing anything.
Mid late 80's it was so empty at pacific coloseum-could get a meal and game for 10-15 bucks

I think the rebuild needs to be from within this org. They had a top 2 d-man in the league. They have EP40. They should have been building. So ya, unless this org rebuilds it won’t matter.
they are showing up because they have paid top 5 tickets prices already and cant sell them…. wait until the season ticket holders start cancelling
I have watched almost every Canucks game on TV for the last couple of decades, and long before that since expansion days. This present situation with Rutherford and Allvin is unique. The team has gone downhill ever since these two were signed as supposedly experienced, positive hockey experts. From the days not too long ago when Canucks would make the playoffs, to now when they are dead last in the NHL and SUCK as a team. Rutherford and Allvin have traded alway their best players in their so-called "rebuild". They grossly over-estimated the talent and future franchise superstar value of Elias Petterson EP40, awarding him a contract almost as great as Connor McDavid. It was a huge mistake. Petey has proven he's only an average player, and a total bust as a team-leading superstar. He will never be any better than he is now. Rutherford and Allvin can't trade him now. I think the best thing Canucks could right now —- today — is fire Rutherford and Allvin. They need new management and fresh hockey minds, not two guys who have dragged this team right down to as low as it could possibly get.
Nice attempt by John Shannon to sugar-coat his buddy Jim Rutherford. I'm sure Jim will appreciate it. But fans like me aren't buying it and want Rutherford and Allvin fired now. We need fresh new hockey minds to pull this team from the basement, because with Rutherford and Allvin it's going to be more years of frustration and failure.
Things have got so bad with Canucks that I sometimes wonder if this isn't a deliberate policy to kill the team and make it so unappealing to the fans that the Aquilinis end up selling the franchise. They certainly could cash in right now for a very large profit on their investment. Business is business, and teams have moved on to other cities many times before in the NHL.
This is just the start of the darkest era. At the beginning of this season, they though they were going to make the playoffs. We have a lot more time of this.
Naw, Messier era was worse
Wtf? Seems rather Ignorant to lay the shortcuts of past managrment at the feet of current mgmt.
They actually did an excellent job, bringing us to the 7th game of the 2nd round..and everything went wrong and fell apart after that..and now they are responding…it just seems odd to refer to " decades" .when it wasnt them…ownership..thats a different story.
What's Shannon supposed to say about his friend Rutherford..??
Any good friend would say their friend is good at something they are clearly not good at.
Both Shannon, and Rutherford are clearly past the "best before date."
Ahhh the 80's. Pay for a nose bleed seat and sit wherever you want
