I’ve watched most of his games this season. My biggest excitement/concern about him heading to Maine was whether at 5’8” he could handle playing with men. A resounding yes – the dude is very physical, drives the net hard, works off contact, and has a wicked shot. His release is second only to Nadeau’s among our prospects (and not by much). I think he will probably break Nadeau’s freshman scoring record at Maine.
Going from the Q to NCAA was a big step up in competition level, but he’s acclimated very well. Was slightly skeptical of him having an nhl trajectory prior to this year but he’s proven me wrong. Second only to Nystrom in prospects that have moved the needle on their trajectory in a positive direction this year (not a slight of guys like Nadeau but he was someone that already had strong nhl top 6 upside and has stayed on that path, while Porier and Nystrom have moved where I thought their ceilings were to a higher trajectory).
I think we have his rights indefinitely, from what Puckpedia had shown.
This guy is the best player on Maine or what? Looks like I should start watching college hockey
Need Dustin Poirier to come sound the siren if we sign this kid
Looks like a great asset to trade
