3 goal posts by the Leafs & a crap load of in close chances where they just couldn't finish. They had clean looks from 15 feet out where they missed the net. Giving up the tying goal with 30 seconds left in the first was absolutely inexcusable by the Matthews line. Domi front & center failing to recognize the danger in the O-zone & how Edvinsson can beat a burner like McMann up ice to score is a mystery. Gibson & Woll were outstanding. I acknowledge Domi scored in OT vs Winnipeg, but I can count at least 4 other OT games where he did something stupid in turning the puck over, then pooching his D-zone responsibilities after his mistake. I would rather see Cowan, McMann or Robertson in OT than Domi all day long & yes, Cowan & Robertson both made OT mistakes tonight, but I'd still play them ahead of Domi.

The Leaf defence is better than they were at last year. This wasn’t a blow out. They just need an adequate Marner replacement and one defencemen. This is a transition year but kudos to the defence.
Imagine if Reilly was injured and all the other D stayed healthy. We'd be a much better team.
