How hard is it for the ref to be like “I messed up the call, over turn the penalty, centre ice face off”?

I mean nice but how about being able to look at a replay. He wasn’t even close to him. Ridiculous. NHL has to fix this.

Refs are humans. Hockey is fast. They make mistakes.

I was watching the game as a wild fan and was perfectly okay with Montreal getting that goal with 15 seconds left. Sucks to lose but the wild shouldnt have even been tied at that point really

What if they scored? Does he still go apologize, or does he pull an ostrich, puts his head in a hole.

Should not have been called, and should not have been overturned. The game can’t come to the point where everything is reviewed. Refs are not supposed to call a penalty on something they guess must have happened. In this case he saw a player going down and assumed he must have been tripped. They are supposed to let that call go. If they didn’t see it, it didn’t happen. Lots of penalties are missed, and some of those are where the ref probably would have been right in guessing, but they are not supposed to. Do not make the call if you do not see the infraction.

Nothing wrong with making a mistake… just undo the call and nobody would get angry.

And us Habs fans are chastised for bitching about the leagues obvious bias against us….

Let the coaches challenge one called penalty per game. Problem solved. Won’t lead to endless reviews and will also prevent stuff like this
