I think it’s only a matter of time for guys to feel more comfortable about coming out. If you really think about it, it doesn’t matter one bit what someone does in their private life.
Hahaha what are they supposed to say? We would be prejudiced and standoffish at the prospect of a gay teammate? I think it’s pretty safe to assume this would be the front facing opinion of every organization in the developed world at this point in time.

As a trans woman, habs support for lgbtq means a lot. I played handball as a kid and was super talented eventually dropped the sport being bullied. Go habs go
Go Habs go. Love that Guhle has been a teammate of Prokop’s. Honeslty, the women have been doing it forever and you never hear about it affecting the game in a negative way on the female side.

The first NHL player to openly come out as gay would likely face an overwhelming amount of media attention. They would be expected to give countless interviews, discuss it repeatedly, become a symbol, and answer questions about it on a regular basis.
The media would also ask every player on their team how they feel about it.
I understand why they may prefer to keep this aspect of their lives private. Most hockey players value privacy and prefer to keep their personal lives out of the spotlight.
I’m sure there have been many gay players in the past so pretty much business as usual
If you’re not interested in pursuing a romantic/sexual relationship with someone, it’s completely irrelevant what sex/gender they are, or what their sexuality is.
I think that’s cool.
