Gonna be a long day waiting for an Ed update
I hate my job.
It’s another beautiful day at the top of the Atlantic. You can almost see Ottawa from up here.
A level 2 snow warning while they clear the roads, so I get to stay home and miss an irksome meeting.
Gonna play some games all day and wait for an Ed update.
Kinda stoke about the Super Bowl matchup, whoever wins its still a cool underdog story that got them there.
The more time I spend looking at defensemen supposedly on the market, the more I come back to Faulk. He’s actually good defensively and we’d lighten his workload a bit.

They are saying that Danielson, a first, and Augustine is a no flinch dead nuts accept for Rob Thomas.
I’m out here thinking if Augustine is on the table, I’d rather try to get Werenski – same package and add another premium asset… or just keep Augustine and go for Petterson… if Thomas costs three premium assets maybe Petterson costs two? I thought Hughes was four premium assets but maybe the way they were talking about it it’s more like 3.5. I’m giving 4 premiums for Werenski all damn day. Still my pipe dream.
I know Petterson makes $3.5M more than Thomas, but that’s less than what we have partially buried in the A with Holl + Gustafson – not to mention we seem to have a surplus of cap space, seems like I’d rather keep the extra premium asset and take on Petterson instead of Thomas.
Lots of bad options on defense that are publicly available, mostly d5 type players we’d ask to take on top 4 minutes, but cheap. Faulk considered the only legit option and expected a good prospect and a first in a deal for him.
If any rental costs a B prospect and or a 3rd round pick or later, I think we should do it, plus you might consider trade extending them. Soucy or Ferraro, possibly whitecloud intrigue.
I love seeing Detroit at the top of the standings but I worry about regulation wins. Even with more games played Detroit is 5th in the Atlantic for RWs so Tampa, Buffalo, Boston, and Florida all have the tiebreaker against Detroit. Detroit is only better than Montreal, Toronto, and Ottawa.
I hope it doesn’t even come up in the standings but it would suck to replay a few years ago and missing playoffs based on the 1st tiebreaker.
I know I’m jumping the gun by thinking about first round match ups, but it’s really funny that the team that would worry me most in the playoffs is Buffalo. I think they’d give us the hardest time if we met in the first round.
I highly doubt edvinson is playing tomorrow
I am really worried about after the Olympic break. We all know that Raymond and Larkin went missing production wise after 4 nations last season. Just hope it doesn’t occur with them again and also Seider.
