Saved 32 out of 34 shots!! Thank you Dobes!

Yep. He raises my blood pressure and makes me anxious but he’s winning so no more snip snap. Let’s give him the rope, and extra until Monty forces himself back into discussion (if he does).

  4. EquivalentStomach5

    Put him against the Nordiques

As a performer, I was always told if you don’t blame yourself first and be at least somewhat emotional about each game (or for me performance), you don’t care enough.

What I heard from Monty in that interview was someone who does not deserve to be the #1. Blaming other people for his mistakes. Sure your defence could play better, but you still stand between the puck and the net. If you just blame everyone but yourself, you will never get better.

Dobes on the other hand, getting emotional after a loss… I much rather that guy. He cares. That’s what will drive him to win, and to be better. You want that emotion and adrenaline. You can teach him to control his emotions better and use it to fight. You can’t teach people to care.

Dobes devant le filet vs Nordiques jeudi

  8. easy8888888

Somehow MSL will find a way to give Monty more starts.

A lot of you said he’s not much better than Monty. Look at the wins vs losses compared to Monty. Sure he gives up almost as many goals. When are they? How important are they? Does he lose us games?

  10. gucciflipflop230

Please give him 75% of the games moving forward

  11. OiledUpHippo

4 games in January….. I’m sorry but that should’ve been closer to 8 games.

  12. Excellent-Seesaw-516

Bravo, he played one good game.

  13. Philly514

Until he has a rough start and people want him in the AHL lol

  14. Ndr2501

I’m in the minority here, I don’t think he is much better than Monty. But, I like the fact that he competes more and he is still young so just play him and let him develop ffs. Sure, he doesn’t need to play every night, he might not be efficient when tired, but I still think he should play most games.

Then again: the coaching staff see these guys hours every day. I’m sure they know what they’re doing. But it’s fun to speculate haha.

  15. vlhube71

In fairness to Dobes, he actually looked solid tonight. Wasn’t flopping as much.

  16. SpermicidalLube

I don’t think he’s better than Monty, but the team in front seems to play better almost every time.

Maybe he’s just a lucky charm for the team.

  17. TrulyRyan

Monty white knights are so far in denial, they’re in Egypt.

You cannot watch Dobeš play and then watch Monty play & somehow believe they’re both similar.

Monty needs to be shipped off. Force feeding him games is straight up self sabotage.

  18. rosemp16

Until the next time he loses and Monty has a good fame in which case time for pitchforks

I knew this months ago. Dobes is still a rookie too, he’s still learning. This dude will have a great career anywhere he lands.

  20. SugarCanKissMyAss

He HAS been this year though… I know I’m a vibes based thinker and that’s not always the way to go but Doby was HOT until the 3 goalie system had him playing so infrequently… let the man play if he’s hot has been my thinking the whole time

  21. ptkerwin

I’m going to the game in Buffalo. We need Dobes in the net to win.

  22. whaletacochamp

My man. My mattress man. Goalie doby. We love you.

  23. Common_Repeat

A couple bad games and this sub will hate him again lol.

  24. HabsFan77

Holy symbolism, he was being a little less humble with his hand movements too riling up the crowd post-game

  25. DCHacker

Pretty good job, to-night. Glad for the « W ».

    23 9 6
    24 years old
    6’4
    Kids got the tools.
Hes rough and has some improvement to make in his game but he is off to a great start to his career.
Just imagine him with 2 years of experience under his belt.
You cant teach size and you cant teach his desire to win.

  27. Spicy_Pickle_6

I agree. But also, guys in front have played MUCH better D tonight.

  28. Owlguard33

I really do believe that if Dobes continues to improve on his technical game—which he will because of his level of passion & compete—his consistency will improve, & from there, has potential to be one of the better goalies in the league. Like a 1A/1B like Halak was.

  29. TheGameDayDad

With the way consistency between the pipes has been one of their biggest problems, you have to play the hot hand. If Dobes can stack some wins together, his confidence will come back and we’ll be back.
