Wallstedt makes his first appearance on the list, at #10.
> The 23-year-old is having a superb season as part of the tandem in Minnesota but finds himself on this list because of the tremendous value he could potentially bring back in a trade. The Wild have Filip Gustavsson under contract through 2031 and will at least listen to interest in Wallstedt, according to The Athletic’s Michael Russo. Minnesota is going to need to get a front-line player back in order to make this work. But after parting with their other A-plus assets in order to land Quinn Hughes in December, the Wild are willing to take another big swing before the deadline.
Some notable centers are Trochek at #2, Thomas up to #5, and Shane Wright making an appearance all the way up at #4. Coyle and Jenner from CBJ are also on the list.
No trades. None.
Dont trade anyone. When this team is at 100% they are world beaters. Trading Wally would be a death sentence.
I’m not convinced trading Wally and prospects for a center at this point would guarantee anything. Never know with chemistry. And having two great goalies is a cheat code, especially in the playoffs.
if anything, get another scorer who costs less.
I think it would be wise to trade Wallstedt while he still has some shine on him from his magnificent month back in November. I know there are a lot of feelings on him from our fanbase but the face of the matter is that he has let in 3 or more goals 8 times in his last 9 starts.
In his last 5 games he has a save percentage of .848.
**EDIT: Because a 5 game stretch maybe isnt fair I decided to look at numbers dating from to all games from December to present. His save percentage raises to a whopping .886. His overall season stats are really eating on a very hot and unsustainable month in November.**
I’m not saying he’s gonna be trash but I think if we can get a 1C with a decent contract and not a rental then I think we deal him. Gus is signed and going to block him for years to come anyways and it’s not as hard as people think to find a backup goalie. Wild have made great trades for goalies before.
