Cause having unhealthy players would give management an easy cop out for yet another failed season.

We aren’t a well run organization, that’s my guess

Idk why we’ve done a lot of things the last year or two.

Between the pricing article in August, the attendance story in December and now this, the guys at the Athletic are really not taking it easy on the Pelley era corporate decision making of the Leafs.

Seemingly deservedly too. This is the kind of reporting you hope to get from a paid outlet like this.

  5. Is there a full list of personel who followed Dubas to Pittsburgh? I knew Spezza basically quit the same day, I didn’t know about the sports performance manager.

James and Jonas have really stepped up their game this year.

This is my gripe when people say “Shanny and Dubas did nothing”

No, they had a solid vision of how the supporting systems of the organization outside of player personnel should be and they believed science and advanced analytics could give us an edge.

I’m not saying they were perfect, but they were good and we were moving this dumpster fire of a franchise forward and it was so exciting at the time.

  8. And this, my friends, show exactly what MLSE is all about, exactly as their parent companies are, profit only not interested in serving their public, in this case fan base. And what do they do when profits for the quarter are off? Lay off and trim.

Sure hockey is a business, but showing up as a corporation doesn’t go well in athletics. Maybe we’re blaming the wrong people and its ownership that’s wrong for this team.

say what you want about shanny. He didn’t deliver playoff success but he built the organization up immensely and the worst thing they could’ve done after letting him go was not bring in another hockey minded president.
