Actually, it was just Tom Fitzgerald who traded Palat to the NY Islanders. Sheldon Keefe doesn't have the authority to make trades.
Also, in your mock trade, is that 2026 1st round pick lottery protected?
i don't know if i would trade this year's first round pick. We could be in the lottery if they don't turn it around soon. They the Devils might be the ones "selling off" players instead of trading for them. I believe this core needs a bigtime shake-up. It's been together long enough to improve and unfortunately it is getting worse. Unless you bring in a coach who wants to just play run-and-gun hockey which doesn't win you championships, I'm not sure this core can play "playoff" type hockey against teams like Florida, Carolina and Tampa Bay. Maybe it's time to move on from the Hughes brothers since both don't have NTC's and have tons of value. You could change the whole team by trading those two.

Jack Hughes isn’t a good center tho. Great offensive player and scorer, but he’s not defensively responsible and is terrible on the dot.

It’s a good time to have a learning moment, and watch an “aggressive” GM, who will do whatever it takes to win NOW, contrasted against a CLUELESS GM, who has no idea whatsoever, WHEN to go in, and win it all. But remember, PATIENCE. Just like waiting FAR too long, to move Palat. BOZO, especially if he moves a potential top-10pick, WITH Mercer for Kyrou. We use the pick, for a more significant move.
Jordan Kyrou may solve the scoring issue but he's yet another finesse skill player who doesn't dig pucks out from the boards and is not physical. That means a line of Kyrou, Hughes, and Bratt gets shutdown in the neutral zone. They need a player who will do the things Jack and Jesper refuse to do.
