I feel like I read somewhere he didn’t want to be Gm

I think it’s time for me to jump in and give it a shot at this point. I’ll bring us a cup, booooys!!

Is that even a thing he can or wants to do? Yes he’s an absolute wizard with the cap that doesn’t mean he has any hockey insight or ability to wheel and deal. (I am deeply appreciative of the guy don’t take this as slamming him or defending the incumbent)

We’re getting a little off the rails here, folks.

might as well give it to Steve Dangle, at least he has a pulse unlike these chumps

Maybe it’s just me but hate when teams just promote internally because even if they don’t have last say if they have all kinds of great ideas you would think the GM would listen because if not why are they even hired?

Personally would prefer bringing in a new voice altogether even if I don’t know who that could or should be.

He’s interesting. He’s a cap genius but I have no idea what his background/expertise is in like … player evaluation. He’s sure been around long enough to see and learn how the role is done but is he a guy who really has a vision for an NHL team? I’ve never gotten the impression that was his role.

This – you cannot let Brad trade away assets

I certainly don’t want Treliving at the helm of a rebuild.

  10. kingex11

He’s a number cruncher, not an evaluator of talent.

We should have just kept Dubas and gotten rid of Shanahan if this is the route we want to go.

Pridham working through Dubas was a perfect situation. One guy could focus on hockey operations while the other could manage the cap to a tee.

    Maybe bring back Mark Hunter

Give the capologist who let every FA get overpaid the big chair!!!

  14. Deep-Yard32

Its time for him to get fired too lol, you think hes not involved at all in the moves we’ve made? This sub has gone full moron mode

If it was his idea to do cap gymnastics to find players that were signed an extra year or 2 and give more valuable assets for the retention then he is just as responsible for the Carlo and Laughton deals as Treliving. To me those types of moves should be reasons to get rid of someone instead of promoting them.

All I know is I do not want Treliving handling this trade deadline, the draft or FA. Whether it’s Pridham or someone else, Treliving needs his hands off of this teams future.

    Good God no.

He is the cap guy, the Leafs need a real hockey guy in the GM seat.
