Kane might have had his issues, but so did Tony DeAngelo. In fact, Kane never had to leave the NHL and play in Russia because he was so unwanted. It’s hypocritical to assume he’s just going to be a guaranteed toxic presence in a locker room when by all accounts that’s not true and he’s been without any problems for years. Kane is a great, tough playoff performer and he would’ve been a solid addition to the team, but that role has been filled by Palat.
