    I’d rather not trade for an almost 36 year old center who has been playing wildly inconsistent his last few years. If we’re going to trade for a center, it’s got to make sense for a long while and move the needle. Kadri doesn’t do this

    Andersson return: Zack Whitecloud, prospect Abram Wiebe, a 2027 first-round pick (top 10 protected), and a conditional 2028 second-round pick. The Flames retained 50% of his salary.

    Kadri has 3 years left after this at 7m per. Let’s assume Calgary retains 0% and our package is Stramel, Jiricek, and a second round pick. We keep the 1st rounder and they don’t retain salary. Are we making this deal? I might but I would wait until after the Olympics for sure. Key considerations would be our other options (who knows) and especially keeping enough money in the bank for a Hughes extension.
