Idk if Stankoven had his head down or Wilson was headhunting on purpose. It’s one of those plays that I can’t call elbowing because Wilson dropped his shoulder for the hit. At least Wilson stopped to hit instead of slowing to board him. This could’ve ended a lot worse if it was still the 90s-2010s

Couple side notes, the kid has to skate with his head up, glad he’s okay. Second and most importantly, no one on Carolina went after Wilson.
Imagine if Carolina had a Stu Grimson or a Jim McKenzie patrolling? Love Wilson and guys of his ilk but they knew their place back when the heavyweights roamed the ice..
