I know many of you are trolling, but like. Pickard is horrible.
They waived him because the other guy Ingram that they got for peanuts from Utah outplayed him substantially.
He’s not sent down because they had no other choice, he got sent down because he’s legitimately one of the worst goalies in the NHL.
I hate Hill, but comparing Pickard to Hill is like comparing Hill to Vasilevskiy.

Growing up, my dad was quite frugal when it came to cars. He was very good at negotiating, but for whatever reason always chose to get cheap used cars out of the classifieds. He’d pay $5k cash for something, drive it for a couple years, spend minimal cash repairing it (but neglecting important maintenance) and eventually sell it for peanuts and buy another, similar bargain car. All the while, reliability and performance were afterthoughts. Getting stuck at the grocery store because his latest acquisition had shit the bed wasn’t totally unheard of, and my mom frequently rented cars for road trips because spending the first 24 hours of vacation waiting on a tow truck wasn’t part of her plan.
Pickard would be another $5k bargain that’d leave us stuck on the side of the road in 2500 miles, hoping we can limp to a service station and crawl our way home from there. I think we’ve collectively grown tired of it and have little interest in continuing the habit.

This would greatly depend on whether or not the boyz would get behind him and play solid D. Meaning as well, playing the system that Cassidy is laying out. In other words; the defensive cup style of play mentality. Remembering those words « It hurts to win ».
