Unfortunately it’s probably something unexpected that came up. People act like he’s horrible and getting fired but his acquisitions are mostly playing fine, team doing fine, and prospects coming along well.
According to Alex Daugherty, Trotz will remain as the GM until a new GM is found.
I hope it isn’t health related. Trotz is def an OG. Do I think he was ready for GM? No.
Is he learning? Yes. Can he get there maybe.
Were his drafting choices good? Yes, I think w proper training there are really good old school “team” players. Are there any superstars drafts (tbd), he’ll Josi was a 2nd rounder, and McCarron was a 1st btw.
Do I think he flubbed FA? Yes. I completely understand swinging for the fences. And I am ok w 1 or 2 bets like that but Stammer, Haula, Bunting, Marchassault, Skeji, Hague was just too many and it didn’t pan out.
Though I do think treating Oreilly like he has a nmc is pretty loyal.
