  1. Shame i can't catch these live to interact a bit more but the people blaming Bob musn't watch the games. they just look at the stats and determine that he is cooked.
Sure there are some goals he would want back but the same can be said of any player. The panthers style of play has them pressure, pressure, pressure for long periods of time.
Then oops, grade A+ chance the other way. Surely its hard for a goalie to be waiting for a few minutes, then suddenly a 2 on 1 or breakaway or other good chance.

  2. We have no reason to blame the team for their performance this year. In fact, considering the injuries and the historically strong Atlantic division, it's amazing that they've been in the race this long.

Some numbers from the 2/1 standings: Atlantic division average Points % is .600, next highest is Central at .566. That's crazy. Panthers are now in last place with a winning record!

Atlantic division is +81 goal differential, Central is next at +28, Metro -2, Pacific -107.

Last playoff spot in the east is Boston, on pace for 99.9 points, which might be a record. In the west it's Anaheim, on pace for 89.6.

Until the last couple of games, Panthers would have been in a playoff spot in the west.

And the injury toll is absurd. Barkov is IMO the best player in the world, he shapes everything we do on ice, makes everybody around him better. He's the guy who shuts down the other teams stars, and he's the one who makes the forecheck effective. 15-27-63 was an incredible third line, but as a first line they're not up there with the best.

But we were doing okay until the Jones injury, and that marked the turning point. Other guys have stepped up, but you can't expect league minimum players to replace a $9.5 million player. Then of course the Marchand injury followed by Lundell. We're essentially playing with half a team, and we stayed in the race until the last three injuries.

BTW, if we miss the playoffs, the 1st round pick that we sent to Chicago isn't lottery protected, so potentially…. I don't even want to think about it.
