All joking aside, the good news is that the teams construction is really not at fault. The team has incredible depth (maybe could have used 1 more center) but the team on the ice right now is just not a contender.
They will come back stronger and rested next year but this season is over. I would love to be proven wrong.
Next year they are in a really fantastic position with rising cap and Bobs new contract to come back better than ever.
It will be interesting to see what Zito has in mind. Placing Barky on SELTIR will cover any cap issues and the team might actually be able to make some moves to set us up even more for next season. Around 2.23M left in LTIR cap even after reactivating all other LTIR contracts. This allows the team to not have to trade Roddy who has been the teams MVP this year and deserves to be a Panther Long Term.
This team is a sleeping giant. No reason this team doesn’t go on another long run next season.
