After all they managed to keep the Gauthier news a secret for a long time.

Why can cates, brink, Hathaway ,coots all go out every night and have a a stat line that reads 0 0 0 and never face any sort of restraint on their ice time. Michkov still has more points than any of those guys. If this team was loaded with skill then sure there’s an argument but they have 3 top 6 forwards and they have no choice but to play him since they’ve fumbled everything.
If this is true, it seems more than coming into camp out of shape. I wonder if his ankle is fully healed.

This is just bait…… This is getting frustrating at this point because people are snowballing comments that are taken out of context.
Michkov wasnt in shape of an expected NHL player. As the season goes on everyone gets in better shape. So while he is back were he needed to be, everyone else is still ahead of him in conditioning. Thats all the team said yet people have been blowing shit out of proportion acting like hes being punished or that he was fat and put no effort into his offseason training.
They are just managing the player and stopping him from hitting a wall. The point is that at the level the NHL plays, he cannot handle 17 mins a night on a nightly basis. He could maybe put in some work during the break to catch up but this is likely something that needs to worked on during the offseason.
He will be back to where we want him next season. Screenshot this post because I guarantee it.
I dunno. Sometimes you just have the sauce and sometimes you don’t. I’m not a hockey expert but usually you show something by now. I’ve seen it even with Wentz and now VJ edgecombe. You either have it or dont by now in my opinion. Even Bobrovsky was a great goaltender with modest numbers here in Philly but he definitely visibly passed the test.
