Hard to hate on this deal. Greentree seems like another middle six prospect (which makes him more expendable then a true top prospect)
We are in full re-tool mode for the foreseeable future given the commitments to Juice, Fiala, Byfield (& hopefully) Clarke. Now we add pieces around them.
Our rebuild didn’t net a truly elite talent pool(like the other California teams, or the Sabres) so we are firmly in the re-tool universe. Not ideal but not sure this market is ready to tear things down again & start all over again. But yeah…also means it’s hard to see the Kings as true Cup Contenders anytime soon.

Honestly, I didn’t really want Panarin, but I actually like this trade. Did anyone expect Greentree to be pulled up in the next 2-3 years? No one seemed to really be excited about him at all, especially given how weak our prospect pool is. Plus, only giving away a 3rd (possibly a 2nd but I doubt it) and a 4th? I’ll take it.
