A generational goalie fronted by multiples generational/superstars defenseman and forwards will do that lol.
Price was good, but that defensive system was absolutely brutal. I think it was the best defensive team in Olympics history in terms of efficiency.
If I recall, Canada won the final only 1-0, yet somehow the game never felt in doubt.
He gave a goal to Norway, Finland and Latvia. Then he shutout the US in the semis and shutout Sweden in the finals.
People diminish his performance and say it’s because he had great defense, but no. A lesser goalie would have let more goals in. Price was in his peak and locked in.
I’m actually concerned for Canada because of their goalies this year.
Price didn’t even need to push hard to win that gold medal. He had another gear

Price/Luongo tandem was absolutely elite and that 2014 Olympics doesn’t get looked at the same as 2010 and it was just some great hockey all around from Canada.

Thats probably the greatest defensive team ever assembled. I watched a few of their games back and he must have been so bored back there. They hardly ever gave up anything in the middle of the ice.
I remember Lebrun tweeting that during a TV timeout in the gold medal game he saw Price yawning
