    Obviously I wanted us to go as far as we could, but this is, in some ways, preferable to midding our way through the regular season and limping into another subpar playoff appearance. It just makes it undeniable that major change needs to be made. Still sucks!

    Who would you want on this roster next year? I’m going with Nico, Jack, Luke, Grits, Glass, Bratt (I am disappointed in his play this year but don’t want to give up on him and hope it’s a one off). I’m not attached to anyone else at this point and I feel the defense needs an overhaul as well as forwards. Like someone pointed out, a player with 0 points was on the top line yesterday, totally unacceptable. The player I feel is most important (Nico) is the one I am most concerned about losing. Front office and coaching needs to go. This team and system is like Groundhog Day. Same old thing over and over and over again. Anyway, glad our guys made it over for opening ceremonies and looking forward to that tonight and hopefully some good Olympic hockey from them because that’s all we’ve got.

    This is 100% on Keefe, Fitz, and the coaching staff. The fact that Keefe tried to throw the players under the bus earlier this week proves he’s just trying to save his job.

    Going to be really tough to do worse than the teams below us for a top 5 draft pick. We might be stuck in purgatory.

    I saw somebody else say it and it makes a lot of sense. I do think Fitz is on the chopping block but because he’s the AGM of the US Mens team they wont fire him before or during the Olympics. This is 100% pure speculation but it makes a lot of sense as far as optics.

    Maybe Team USA will bring me some joy. Surely they’ve never disappointed us in a big tournament before.

    Im starting to buy into what Stearns did with the Mets this off-season… talented team that needed massive changes to keep the window open. Devils need that… this core is too good to be playing like this, the front office is going to need to be aggressive and creative this off season and see what is working and what is not and make the moves… no more tinkering on the sides, this needs a major retool
