Préparez-vous à apprendre le Canuck, Gavin !

EDIT : Aurais-je tort de dire que je veux que les Canucks le repêchent encore plus maintenant ?

The Canucks will finally get a 1OA pick and waste it on some goon McKenna who’s only known for punching people 🙄

  2. bonergarage123

And some people here were ready to give him the death penalty 🤣🤣🤣

  3. Live_Presentation_74

This is the biggest win we’ve had all season

  4. HiveMindMacD

It seems like this is just some guy talking shit who then lost the fight and went sue mode? That doesnt take away from Gavin needing to show more self control. But honestly if im 18 and someone allegedly called my mom a whore to her face im probably throwing hands too.

We really need some gumption on this team. Blueger can trash the team respect all he wants but he wasnt there to defend a cheap shot on DPetey last game.

    not surprised.

I guess as a guy on a student visa, this could have the potential for the US to cancel his Visa and it would be back to major junior.

  8. SpectreFire

Damn, poor guy. He might actually end up a Canuck.

  9. Steler19

All in on Mckenna at 1st overall now. He’s been on a tear since WJC and desperately need a player with some pushback.

Honestly adults 30+ make worse mistakes and behave worse than this.

Seems like he defended him self from a bully piece of trash.

Wow. That happened quicker than I thought it would.

Might be an unpopular take, but I’d still rather Stenberg over McKenna. We seem to do better with players that have a high floor than a high ceiling, plus the Swedish connection to make players feel comfortable here.

McKenna has amazing talent, don’t get me wrong, punching some guy in the face doesn’t change that. The Canucks organization, however, have a piss poor track record of developing and utilizing offensive minded players with very high skill, often to a point of hurting their progress/shuttering it altogether.

Whale team makes me sad sometimes.

He wasn’t going to spend a day in jail. I don’t think people were concerned about that. The main concern was his composure and attitude. This isn’t the first time he was questioned about his attitude. The NHL players are going to call his girlfriend, wife, mom more names. It’s just the way physical hockey is played at every level. Kesler and Burrows said something just as bad to Backes’ wife.

And honestly, the toughness/grit angle is irrelevant for a player of his caliber. He will never be asked to fight if he was drafted as a franchise point-producer winger. If he has to fight to stay in the league, then he became a bust.

The biggest question is he isn’t a clear cut 1OA. Stenberg is making a great case, so this might push him to 2nd overall…lucky for that team.

Don’t get me wrong, if the Canucks fall to 3rd overall and McKenna is available, then you take the risk. But if you have 1st overall, then that’s a much more difficult decision. And Verhoeff stock is climbing, watching that kid skate makes me certain he’ll be a 1RHD with size. That’s going to be rare too.

    > Upon further review of video evidence, prosecutors believe that McKenna « did not act with the intent to cause serious bodily harm nor did he recklessly act with extreme indifference to the value of human life. »

He’ll be good in the riot when we lose the cup next time.

  18. Blev088

I’m more curious what the NCAA is going to do, if anything. Do they suspend him at all? If so, how long?

  19. CJK_420

Aaaaand we’re all back on the McKenna train

  20. VanIsleRyan

A crap does this mean he’ll be a Panther!?

  21. flamingdragonwizard

Lets be real. We’re taking Stenberg.. we love our Swedes. We’ve drafted about 6 Swedes with this mgmt.

  22. Mistercorey1976

Alvin is to dumb to take anybody who is not Swedish. Sadly.

  23. HDXHayes

Sounds to me like somebodies mouth was writing cheques that their ass wasn’t ready to cash.

  24. The_Cozy_Burrito

Wouldn’t be surprised if the “victim” just wanted to make some easy money. Worthless clown made a fool out of themselves.

  25. nigookmixbear

Boring Patrick Alvin will never draft this guy. The management seem to have boring, dehumanizing corporate values. I want this player because the edge is exciting and what the Canucks need, but in my mind there is pretty much 0% chance they draft him unless he falls to 3-5.
