I still think there needs to be a shake up of some sort. I know Mercer l’s name comes up a lot. I’m thinking a real shake up would be trading someone like Bratt.

Really depends on the returns which I have no ideas about. But clearly we need to sell whatever spare parts we can for picks at the deadline. Retool in the summer. Hopefully draft well moving forward…

Decision needs to be made if this core can win. They’ve burned through multiple coaches, multiple goalies, multiple defensive lines, multiple bottom six configurations.

At this point you have two reasonable lines of thought left.

    1. The core is the problem. Break it up. Don’t wait too long like Toronto did.

    2. The GM is historically awful and while he’s changed everything else up around the core, several times, he’s bungled it each time.

I’m not saying 2 isn’t possible. I’m just saying 1 is more likely.

I see people and analysts say all of the time that this core is soft or have no fight. I’m not at liberty to say if they are or they aren’t, but look at the core and tell me who specifically is soft. In my eyes the core is Hughes, Hughes, Bratt, Nico, maybe Meier. So which one of these players do you trade to bring in toughness and fight? I think if you ask the people that say that, they’d also say “well no, can’t trade Jack. Can’t trade Bratt.”

I understand that different people within the fan base have different opinions, but the “untouchables” have to become touchable if you really really think that the team is soft or mentally weak.
