1. Man I hate this fanbase. If any of them try to say they're better than Leafs fans they should look in the mirror 🙄.

Dubey nailed it: IT WAS A CHANGE OF SCENARY PRIMARILY, and if you're saying you foresaw Jarry being worse than Skinner you're full of 💩.

Much easier playing G this season for PIT than EDM, if you're pretending that it's easy to play G with our offensive-minded tendencies then I'd encourage you to watch the games from the previous 2 seasons as you seem to be forgetting some moments where the goalies were looking similarly bad to now.

Truth is it's taking us longer this season to find that effective control that we've dialed in the playoffs the last 2 years, which helps the goalies big time by reducing high dangers. As of late we're doing a decent job dominating shots, but still allowing too many high-dangers, and unless you have Vasilevskiy your goalies aren't going to look good, doesn't matter who it is.

Stop running good goalies out of town like you did good ole Dubey.

  2. Nurse is the mistake. He’s such a massive liability game in and game out. For every shining moment that he has, there are 30 bad ones. His hockey IQ and positioning are abysmal. He’s dead weight offensively. Never makes the right play with the puck -soft wrister from the blue line that doesn’t even make it half way to the net or goes straight to the goalies crest because there’s nobody even close to being in a spot to make a tip. Flopping around in front of the net instead of covering his man

  3. Hiring this coach was the first mistake……he appears to have NO system of play…….if there is one, please describe this?

  4. You guys should make it more obvious in the thumbnail that it’s an ask dubey! I always click thinking I’m just rewatching an ONE clip, feel like I’m missing a lot of these ask dubeys!

  5. Yes. The Oilers should have stayed with Skinner/Pickard and auditioned Ingram for this season. Then in the off season they should have gone big game hunting for a star goalie.

  6. They traded an .880 goalie who made a little over $2M and rarely got injured, for an .880 goalie who makes $5M+ and gets injured if the wind changes, and is a burden for another 2 seasons.

You tell me if that was a good trade. What are we doing here?

  7. I looked up Jarr’s stats and for his career, they pretty much mirror Skinner’s in save % and GAA and low and behold, in Jarry’s games with Edmonton, he’s pretty much mirroring Skinner’s stats but with slightly higher save % and higher GAA. It’s almost as if the Oilers need to finally address the biggest elephant in the room they’ve had all year which is defensive breakdowns and botched breakouts in their own end.

The Oilers get so many goals scored on them that literally mimic an EA sports hockey game. Just hockey Gods dictated automatic goals against for the debauchery going on in their own end.

  8. Of course it was, most teams dont give up a draft pick to pick up term, especially for an oft injured player. Had Edmonton got the 2nd it would have been better. But Jarry is what he is and im not sure why anyone would think he would be something hes not, which is a good goalie. I get the Oilers needed a change in net but this was a move of desperation.

  9. Frederic’s first short shift was awesome! Jarry looked great at first too! Then they both got the Oiler syndrome and look like they’re not interested?! Something is off in the dressing room… lack of leadership and a coaching problem?

  10. YES it was a mistake. It was a mistake the day it happened, and has only gotten worse since.
For one thing, we needed Kulak a LOT more than our management seems to have realized.

…but also, it was ALWAYS obvious that Skinner is going to develop into an elite goalie, and he's most of the way there.
WE threw him to the wolves as a rookie, then groused because he didn't immediately become the league's best goalie.

  11. Yes but the noise wouldn’t end until a trade was made. It was such a distraction I’m sure it impacted their play.

  12. Yes. mistake; these 2 goalies : Jarry and INgram are NO better than pics or skinner; They are just as BAD and sloppy careless; below 0.90 awful; Oilers will probably fall to wild card after olympics and will lose out 1st round.. just awful

  13. The two Oil goalies will be fine. If we have learnt anything, the team D is the problem. We could have Hasek in net and give a lot of goals.

  14. What was a mistake was thinking that trading away Skinner and Kulak would somehow fix the Oiler's defensive issues.
