@Ligue nationale de hockey

I remember hearing about this and hoping it was just a little cut. terrifying to see what actually happened.

Fuck me I can’t believe it was 18 years already.

The game went on after this? That’s pretty wild

I remember when that happened to Clint Malarchuk

Almost 20 years now and neck guards still arent mandatory and there will be a grandfather exception… NHL and NHLPA doesn’t care about player safety. The irony is almost all these players grew up playing with them their entire junior careers.

The faces on the crowd in pic 1 says it all.

This moment actually caused Clint Malarchuk to have PTSD from his own incident of this type back in 1989

    Scary stuff

If I remember right, one of the main reasons that was credited as to why he survived was the sabres trainer. He was an army combat medic vet who pinched closed Zednik’s artery.

Panthers need to bring back this logo.

  9. Who remembers Trent Mcleary getting a Chris Pronger slap shot point black in the throat. Saved by a pen stab to get some air in.

  10. Holy shit… Is that Nathan Horton in a Mission helmet wearing the Reebok jerseys?

Doesn’t get any more « late 2000s » than that

    Scary

And that’s from someone who saw the one & only time they replayed the Clint Malarchuk injury on TSN 😔

I was driving to my friends place from work and heard “this looks worse than Malarchuk.”

Ran into apartment and turned the game right on.

  15. God damn. I remember causally turning on the game because it was the only one available to watch at the time. Shortly after, this happened. Also, whoever decided to show the slow me of Jokinen’s skate slicing in and blood pouring out can fuck right off.
