Per Friedman, *everyone* is interested in the position.

Quick summary without giving away too much, because Lower Broad is the best local Preds source and worth the subscription if you love the Preds.
Nick Kieser wrote the article and used several sources to flesh out the story.
-The sources are saying that Haslam is looking for an outside GM. He says the GM position is coveted and Haslam is primarily looking to bring in someone from the outside and likely a former player.
-A source says Haslam is looking to change the direction of the franchise and undo a lot of the old ownership’s way of doing thing. They described the way of doing things as « cheap, stiff and needlessly difficult. » Haslam wants to change the brand (I don’t read this as jerseys, gold, etc but more like practice facilities and stuff like that) and modernize the organization.
-He names a lot of names but I’m not going to go into it. The biggest are Tom Fitzgerald (if he gets fired from NJD), former Toronto GM Brendan Shanahan, former Montreal GM (and Buffalo AGM) Marc Bergevin, plus Roman Josi’s current agent Judd Moldaver who lives in Nashville.

Not that it would affect Josis decision to stay but wouldn’t he need a new agent if they hire his current agent and provide more undo work on his end?
I’m not a big shanahan guy just because I don’t think the process worked in TOR and I don’t know if he’s gotten past the old age mindset of what things should be. Not to mention with the moves dubas is doing in Pit makes it seems like he was the brains of that pair.

A great former player who would be a fantastic GM is Steve Sullivan. Do it. Just make it happen.

I’m a habs and preds fan and I can say I wouldn’t be too mad about Bergevin becoming GM. He’s not amazing but he’s also not terrible. Can’t be worse than trotz at least
