I think this was more the players hyping themselves up for the rest of the game than actual news on Sid but I hope they are right more than anything on earth
He just said he has no update. I think this is more of a sentiment to the team. Like “we will win; this will not be Sid’s last game.”

This isn’t implying Crosby isn’t injured and honestly isn’t much of an update.
This is implying the players in the locker room were saying let’s go out and win this for Sid so it’s possibly not his last Olympic game.
Really want to see him win gold with the team, but if he is injured, they need to keep him off even if he says he can play. We need him more.
Everyone of those kids in that locker room had his poster on their wall. They didn’t want to lose. It was motivation to let him play again if he can. Keyword being can. I hope he was pulled from the game as a precaution

Look, I’ll remain optimistic but this quote reads more as the guys in the room saying we’re going to win for Sid so this isn’t it for him at the Olympics more than he’s okay to play.

I hope Sid just goes home and rests up for a playoff run with the Penguins.
I feel like people are misinterpreting this. This is a rallying cry to win the game ,not a prognosis on the injury by the players
