The game thread over in the hockey sub for the women’s gold game was pretty rough yesterday but the only argument I let myself get into was when a dude called all the other games meaningless.
They said everyone else should just compete for bronze, and I get that there’s a clear separation… but what an insult to the other countries to even suggest a thing like that.
The great thing about sport is that it can be anyone any given day and every Olympic athlete deserves their chance at gold. Dude was all over disparaging Americans, too, but I left that alone.
