his daughter looks so much like him ♥️

  2. OPsMomIsAThrowaway

I’m happy they can be there. I can’t imagine how painful it is to continue watching hockey like this and not think about ‘what if’.

  3. Puzzleheaded-Bat4777

    Johnny Hockey lives forever

  4. Aethelflaed_

His kids are so sweet. Everytime I see a picture of his dad it makes me tear up. Poor Guy. 💔 Glad they got to go to the game.

  5. Leading_Dentist_5563

Any time I see Guy, he just looks heartbroken.

Can’t imagine what its been like for him these past 2 years without his boys.

The fact that Johnny and his brother are still an ever-present motivation for everyone who knew them, even now, really speaks to who they were as people.

Fuck drunk drivers. And this is coming from a recovering alcoholic – there’s literally *never* a justification. if you’re the kind of addict who puts innocent people at risk via your drug use you are scorned even by other kinds of addicts. It’s like the bottom tier of the already underground totem pole

So sad and Gaudreau is probably one of the Best player of his generation to have never played best on Best with USA

  8. Smokey_02

I’ve got a lot of beef with my own country right now, but if even just for the Gaudreau family, I want the USA to win gold.

  9. SomethingFunnyObv

Had no idea they have his jersey in the locker room. That’s special and I hope it motivates them against Canada on Sunday.

Makes my heart hurt. Glad they can be there. But damnit I wish Johnny and his brother could be too. I’m glad team USA is honouring them.

  11. GalaxadtheReaper

I hope they keep hanging his jersey up in the locker room for a long time. I’d like Team USA to retire number 13 for him.

  12. CrashTest100

I’m glad to see that they are in my country and shout out on the USA team on honoring him, total class.

  13. jimbojangles1987

Man, the sadness of this just hit me again. God damn drunk drivers. This didn’t need to happen.

  14. tommygun731

He would 100% be on the team, my only consolation if things go sideways on Sunday for Canada

  15. I’ve only attended one NHL game in my life. In Calgary, like 10 years ago, Flames – Jets, in which johnny scored a hat-trick. I was with my then Canadian girlfriend and her family, and as soon as the game was over, I went to the team shop and bought a 13 jersey right away, the most expensive piece of clothing I’ve ever had.

Ever since the accident, the jersey has been sitting in my closet. And I don’t think I’ll ever wear it again, if only out of respect.

That’s it. Never had the chance to share the story before.

I obviously want Canada to win the gold but if the US does happen to win I can at least take solace in that it might bring a bit of light in to the Gaudreau’s lives.

I love that the hockey world has basically made them the First Family of Hockey.

The whole thing just really annoys me. I feel like in 9/10 versions of reality, Johnny would be doing what Johnny did and would be playing out there right now. But we live in the 1/10 version of reality where some drunk, raging asshole just had to try to pass someone on the right hand side of a road that had almost no shoulder. Such a horrible tragedy… it really bugs me. It’s a very life isn’t fair type of feeling.

  19. Whatthegingerread

My heart still breaks for this family. I am not a very religious person, but I do pray they find some solace and peace in their lives after this horrific tragedy.

  20. pungent_queefer

I still can’t believe this shit

  21. ThE_LAN_B4_TimE

I still cant believe that happened. How a family moves on after that ill never know. So fucking horrible.

  22. Connect_Research5542

Hopefully the Jackets can make it to the playoffs this season, they got so close last season and now their playing so well. It would mean so much for everyone who knew him.

I love Iggy but Johnny will always be my favourite Flame. Absolutely crushing loss. RIP Johnny Hockey.

  25. Trick_Builder512

Beaut. Let’s do it for Johnny and Matty boys.

  26. brical66

This family must be protected at all costs. Such a wonderful family that needs America’s love

  27. Gurthy_Lengthiness

Damn, Guy is the kind of guy that wears his emotions on his sleeve

  28. Area51_Spurs

Anyone who hasn’t checked it out yet should watch “Shrinking” for a really well made show that revolves around the aftermath of losing a loved one because of a drunk driver. It’s a comedy by the guy behind Scrubs that packs an emotional punch and shows how a tragedy like this reverberates through the lives of everyone involved.

  29. The hockey world needed Johnny Hockey in these Olympics. It doesn’t matter where in the world you’re from, he is missed big time and will continued to be missed in the future for his amazing skill and love for the game but even more so for the person he was. So glad his memory isn’t lost.

As someone who had duis in their past I’m lucky I didn’t cause anything like this. Seriously if you feel even a little tipsy get a ride home. I feel like a piece of shit and again am lucky. I don’t even have one beverage if I’m driving
