I really haven’t followed the team tightly this season (especially after that win streak at the start of the season led to whatever abyss we’re in now) but Jack scoring this goal just totally reminded me how much I love this man

Yeah those are the shitty ass beat writers for this team that are trying to run Jack out of town. If I’m the Devils I’m telling them to STFU or have their credentials removed. One of them was going back and forth with a young Jack fan last week. So pathetic, grow up. This isn’t groundbreaking reporting. Quinn does need to realize how close the story could have flipped though if helly didn’t stand on his head . Jack scored a big 3 on 3 goal which he excel at let’s just enjoy that . Whichever jack take you have and hope jack moves and matures from this whole thing and we all can enjoy
As someone who was critical of jack, ive never been more happy to have been proven wrong. I still think he needs to hit the gym a bit, but the kids gonna be alright.
As others have said, I’ve been critical of Jack’s motivation at times. At his desire to really be a leader and to play through the pain sometimes.
But to see him do what he did today after having his damn teeth cracked in half. I’ve never been more proud of a hockey player. What he did was special. I’ve never really seen that from him before. It was amazing to watch.
It’s easy for people at home to assume and to judge things we don’t fully understand. And I’m still not going to say that he’s never shown questionable work ethic before. But he manned up in such a massive way today. And he deserves NOTHING but praise and admiration for it.
We all know Jack is incredibly talented/gifted. There was never any doubt of that. But today we saw that he does have what it takes to reach deep down and be that hero. Even when he’s battered and bruised and bloodied. He can overcome it and get the job done.
I do still hope that maybe he bulks up or something to better protect himself. But I will never question his work ethic again

Really excited he won a gold and scored the game winning goal, one of the best hockey games I’ve ever seen. If this was directed at Devils fans – which I don’t believe it is – the Devils are still 15-21 since he hurt his hand and 7-11 since he came back. Bring that fire back home Jack

At the same time, I think some criticism was fair regarding the steak house incident, and those nights with the Devils where Jack’s head clearly was not in the game.
Thank god Canada didn’t score a power play goal when Jack took that penalty late in the game.
Imagine the criticism directed at Jack, if that penalty led to the game winning goal for Canada?
And it would have not come from just Devils fans. People across the entire country would be blaming him.
Today Jack deserves nothing but praise.
But we should also be grateful, that Hellebuyck gave Jack a chance to be the hero.
I mean, he got hurt at a dinner party… let’s relax on the hero worship related to going through recovery

I’m happy as hell that we have Jack wish he could stay healthy fully but people are so overreacting with sports now a days one day the team does well we are a Stanley Cup bound the next day we lose and everyone needs to be traded and staff need to be fired.
