I think this is a great argument for not just blanket blaming star players when their teams don’t win. Nobody can say McDavid doesn’t care, nobody can say he didn’t play well. How many years has Matthews heard he sucks because he’s not clutch and the Leafs can’t win. I’m not even really mad about the loss tbh because I’m happy for Matthews and our roster was so poorly constructed it doesn’t feel like a legit loss, same way I didn’t care about the loss without NHLers in the olympics. We’re still the best at hockey.
