Had so many people come up to me at work so far today talking about how they’re now fans of the sport after the game yesterday. Unfortunately I’m blue collar so they weren’t really watching for the right reasons but growing the sport is growing the sport lol 😆

I absolutely loved seeing the USA bring gold and Larkin representing us well on the ice.
I’ll get downvoted for this but as for the locker room celebration, I felt it was in poor taste. I don’t care if you are left, right, center, or whatever. Seeing Patel celebrate with the team is as a bad look. He was acting like he was part of the fabric of the Olympic team, yet contributed nothing. I don’t know… just didn’t really sit well with me. I don’t care what your politics are, having that guy in the locker room celebrating is just weird.
Ugh. Not a great look.
Hopefully all this shit cools down by Thursday. There’s a reason I really didn’t want a Canada US final.

If we’re going to delve into this (we absolutely should not) I’m not sure there are going to be many players in the *league* that are going to pass your personal politics purity test. You’re just going to have to reckon with that or pick another sport. I *choose* to believe this is just an instance a player who considers it a great honor to represent his country and is thrilled to have a dignitary recognize their success. Even if said dignitary is shall we say ‘problematic’.

On the game winning goal Larkin drew the eyes of the goalie and he was so focused on Larkin that he didn’t see Hughes and by the time he did too late
I really didn’t want to go to work today 🙁 glad I did though as soon as I got in boss gave me a 50 dollar bill and said here gas money/hazard pay due to the roads being bad

For as snippy as Nate dogg was about « you determine who the better team is », he had a big part in both American goals and missing the open net. Maybe if ya would’ve played better you would’ve won dummy.
Matthews slips a pass past him even thought MacKinnon had the better positioning and basically won the board battle. Then he misses the open net, then gets handled by werenski at the end.
