Get rid of the old boys club infesting Hockey Canada. Complete failure on every level this year
Hockey Canada chooses their teams based on political considerations rather than choosing the best players.A few considerations on the mens's team could have been different.
The American woman have a huge platform to practice on. there are Canadians down there too but not the same scale. We need to invest in our University programs. Lets grow the game and valued education at the same time.
It's very very difficult for a Canadian team to win the cup, because of the taxes. Star players have to be paid 10% or 15% more and that cuts into the cap space and the ability to aquire a full team.
It well be hard to watch the NHL after the Olympics. What a treat.

You do realize that for the men's hockey team that half of the USA Olympic team play for Canadian teams and for the Canadian men's hockey team half of the team play for USA NHL teams 😂
McDavid was a -2 with no points in the Gold Medal game. The other Connor was better, getting an assist, and stopping over 40 SOG.
It isn't out of the realm of possibility that Ottawa and Toronto make the postseason. They both have excellent goaltending. Woll & Stolarz are terrific, and Hildeby has looked awesome in the call-up (.910 S% in 19 games). The Sens have added James Reimer, who got very hot last year on a so-so Sabres team. Ullmark has had a tremendous career, and will continue to do so for years to come.
Hey, Buffalo isn't reliable…Montreal has no goaltending, Detroit hit a huge slump last season, and could do it again, given the Wings are in the Buffalo Sabres' boat – they haven't made the postseason in 10 + years.
Garry and the NHL owners robbed us of the 2018 Olympics. 2022 was a little more understandable because of just being post covid.
But it amazes me how fucking greedy these NHL owners are in particular. The Olympics is only once every 4 years for just 2 weeks.
To put it into perspective , the other sport that has goals. Football. You have players playing for their clubs (league, cup competitions, champions league…etc) and on top of that for their national teams that have to play World Cup qualifiers usually (8games 4 at home 4 away) which goes off on for about half the year. Which has a ton of travel. For example if let’s say you’re a South American player playing in Europe you have to keep going back and forth to play those games. But also you have your continental tournaments (UEFA European Championships, African cup of nations, Copa America….etc… )and qualifiers that you have to play so there’s an international tournament every 2 years that you have to be playing games for.
Ya the clubs prefer their star players to not play in case of injury but they have no right to bar that player from going and playing with the national team. Plus hockey doesn’t have traditional qualifying you don’t see the Alex Ovechkins of this world playing against minnows .
So on that note for hockey fans out there if hockey is wants to be even close to being the number one sport they have to have the NHL players playing in the Olympics without restriction otherwise international hockey is a joke.
I’m bored of these owners whining and complaining.
