Of all the players on this list, the only ones that make sense, imo, are DeBrusk, Coleman, and Trochek. Everyone else is either just a rental, too much money, or too much term. It will all depend on asking price of course

My preference is Thomas or Trochek. Thomas would probably cost too much in prospects, but having Larkin and Thomas would effectively mean having 2 first lines. That’s worked out for the Penguins so why not us?

Thomas and Trochek are the only two that make any sense. If we traded for any of the others on that list I’d kinda be pissed.

If Stevie strikes out on the big names I wouldn’t mind Michael Bunting. He’s a rental but he shouldn’t cost more than a second and he’s a decent contributor. Just please stay away from overpaying for the old guys like Kadri or Coleman.

There’s gotta be somebody not on this list or many other lists from these aggregator sites that is a smart addition… because this list sucks.
Trochek would be cool, but is that the player we spend our first round pick on? I’d rather try to weasel Cuylle away with that first than snag Trochek. But that’s probably unlikely. And Trochek seems to be high on many lists, I wonder if he goes for more than just a first.
Thomas would be cool, but I doubt Yzerman is willing to pay what the blues are asking for and his injury makes things cloudy too.
Werenski mega deal is far and away my preferred outcome.
I also think we’d be wise to look deep into expiring players, those that are set to hit free agency and not be retained by their current teams are available at a discount, just treat it like early free agency and trade-extend them to avoid a rental.

Petterson is interesting. High risk high reward. A change of scenery and Put him with Raymond and I could see it paying off. The cap hit is a little scary even with the rising cap. If it doesn’t work out then , yikes.

Nashville is still in the playoff hunt this year otherwise I’d say Stamkos would be a nice add. If they had continued their shitshow trajectory from last season, I couldve seen them offloading him for a fairly reasonable price. But I think they are too close in the wild card race to part ways with him. Surprised he’s on the list actually.

Couldn’t see the list but how do you feel about Mika Zibanejad? He and Raymond seemed to have a lot of chemistry at the olympics, it really highlighted to me how good Raymond is at assisting, he just needs a reliable goal scorer he can feed it to consistently
