The Canes win a lot of regular season games by playing harder but in the playoffs everyone plays hard
The Canes have hit the ceiling and its not as much as the players playing better but rather the coaches needing to be coaching better believe it or not. They still run the same system they ran in Rod's first year as coach yet they still can't fix the power play years later. It's truly a coaching issue not a player talent or motivation issue at this point. This team is way too predictable come playoff time.
The Canes are physically small in stature. It’s a fact. Check their player stat sheet and they are pretty short and light in weight compared to a lot of teams. Almost all the nhl top point producers are tall big boned men. Every year the cup winner has a few huge enforcers on the team. Hockey is by far the most physically demanding sports and it’s ruled by big goons.
