I like women’s sports. They’re just as compelling and deserve to be taken seriously.
I’m not going to let the worst people in the world ruin something I’ve loved my entire life. I just can’t let them have everything. I can’t hand over all my passions to losers. Disappointed in everything, but my hope endures for progress, and that means you have to stick around to call out the fuckass losers trying to co-opt your hobbies. Disappointed everyone is going to the SotU when it’s clearly a pure propaganda move most anyone should be able to immediately identify, but I’m tired of just giving the bully the ball every time they show up at the court. These guys need to do better, but it’s on us to stick around and demand such.

Only 2 back to backs left for the Wings while most of the league has 5 or 6. Phew. Last thing you want is a crazy schedule down the stretch like that and the wings actually have the same number of post Feb 25 games as they would in a normal year. Just need to hit the ground running and not drop any ugly games in the upcoming stretch. The schedule isn’t too awful after the first week or so but would be really nice to start strong and create a cushion

idk why ppl think that giving the final decision to the team makes the team “just as bad” as the player who’s insisting on going. do we really expect these teams say no to their captains wanting to go? never gonna happen. the teams shouldn’t have been put in that position, the league could have made a decision for everyone. the only possible good thing is it does give players an out if they aren’t really feeling it, as they can now say “yeah they didn’t want me to go : /“. let’s see if anyone uses that.
I think Raymond is going to really turn on the afterburners during this final push to the playoffs. It may take Larkin a couple games to get back into the groove of things. Would love to see Kasper pick up where he left off too. These long breaks always make me nervous though.
Assuming the team would leave Detroit on Wednesday for Ottawa, it probably means Larkin does not practice before our first game.
What are the odds that he plays Thursday? Winnipeg already called up a goalie (although their first game is Wednesday)
Trying not to be overly reactionary and have some grace for guys just achieving an incredible lifetime achievement. At first, I chalked it up to Kash Patel being his usual social climber, obsequious self but the way the entire team hammed it up with him was incredibly disappointing.
I would’ve expected it out of Werenski and the Tkachuk brothers but to see Larkin playing point man for a lot of the interactions was incredibly disappointing. He was just on the ice facilitating the recognition of the Gaudreau family and bringing their kids on the ice, creating a seminal moment in Olympic history.
I get that these guys are from affluent, upper class conservative families but it was just dumb to allow their political slant to undermine all the positivity and good will they just earned.
I refrained from commenting on it much yesterday, but I woke up feeling even more annoyed about this whole thing. especially with how divided this country is, the gold win should have been a nice unifying moment to celebrate & this dumbass team immediately took it & allowed politics to be injected into it. hockey is great in part because its an escape from all the shit. I dont need players to share my political beliefs, in fact, I do not want to know these players’ refried half-thoughts about politics. but if nothing else, have enough god damn self respect to realize that kash patel is so fucking cringe & you’re being used as political pawns. these players look like complete bozos, especially going to the SOTU on top of it all. what an embarrassment for our country. anywho, just had to get it out, sorry. Stevie, please for the love of god make a trade.
