Just imagine if they also traded another UFA, Sheldon Souray, like they should have done. He lead the league in goals for a defenseman and was third overall in points behind Niedermayer and Gonchar. He would have brought in an absolute haul.
Josh Gorges was a real one. Loved that player.

Steve Dangle’s trade tree in this was a good illustration for those who’ve not been into hockey for so long (like me) but WOW did the Habs eat well from it. May have needed some other blunders (*cough* Vegas sending Suzuki *cough*), but you make your own luck 👌

As a Sharks and Habs fan, I loved this deal. Had hopes it would push the Sharks over the top and was really excited to see Georges excel in Montreal.
