À l’heure actuelle, lorsque je regarde notre équipe, j’aimerais voir que nous avons plus de joueurs canadiens. »

Again I had to smush a bunch of stuff please listen to the full thing. Rutherford initially went on a tangent but eventually answered the question with the above answer. Says he’d take any one from any country willing to help the team but he does want more Canadians.
Might be a preview into his mindset going into the draft if Canucks select first overall. 👀👀👀
The trick will be making them want to stay long-term.
Good. We’ve had one of the lowest % of Canadian players on our team for quite some time, it’s weird. Please draft more talent from our country.
He’s gonna say meat and potatoes and then pull off his mask, revealing he’s been Benning all along
MCKENNA MCKENNA MCKENNA. Or Verhoeff I guess.
Good. We already have barely any and if Myers and Debrusk are traded it’s even smaller. I want to see more Canadian drafted talent and during a rebuild we have a decent chance of getting some great players that will hopefully be loyal to the crest and want to be here.
Yeah it sucks we had Horvat but the trade made sense at the time. Hopefully this time around we build a better culture and connected team.
I hope we’re not keeping this management team for a rebuild. Ideally we got rid of ownership too, but that’s unlikely.
Well, the good news is, if we’re 1st or 3rd overall, we’re getting a Canadian player either way.
Now if we’re 2nd overall and the choice is Stenberg or Verhoeff, I wonder what they want?
Our better rosters have been led by primarily Canadians and Swedes. We should stick with that.
If everyone that plays hockey is going to be conservative. I would rather have Canadian conservatives than the current maga corrupted American ones please.
When I looked at the roster this year I almost shit my pants. In fact several teams only have a couple Canadians on the team. It’s alarming the direction the sport is going
I’m Canadian and I don’t care at all about the nationality of the players on the team. Sure, it’s nice to see and support your own, but it’s the farthest thing from a coveted metric for me. Right now I’d just like good, young players with high ceilings.
As much as I’d love to see more Canadians on the team draft the BPA so we don’t have another Virtanen situation where we miss Ehlers and Nylander
Seems easy enough to fix. Fire Alvin so we stop trading for or drafting Swedes.
Seriously what you expect him to say? Dumb question. Just build a good team
Bedard and Cellibrini coming home!
(Hey let me drunk dream)
maybe draft more canadians instead of non canadians?
Oilers, sharks, avs all have a top Canadian superstar…it’s about time the Canucks get one.
I’ve heard enough. Garland for Celebrini loading up
mckenna verhoeff ruck twins! there are soooo many talented canadian kids coming up
Quinn Hughes, Adam Fox, Jacob Trouba, Johnny Gaudreau, Matthew Tkachuk and probably Brady too, are all American players that could not wait to get out of Canada. The “Russian factor” should apply to Americans.
Please, I know in my heart that Gav would love the Roxy, it’s destiny
… »Rutherford then proceeded to trade Myers and Kane (hopefully) »
I don’t care that much about having more Canadians but I would definitely like less Americans.
About time. There are skilled players coming from Sweden but there is just a brand of North Americans play that wins in the playoffs at the highest level.
Start with Gavin and go from there
