    > If Pettersson stays in Vancouver and his next two seasons are as disappointing as these two have been, the Canucks will be measuring him for a buyout. So, retaining $2-million a season for the next 6 ½ years could actually be a bargain if it facilitates a trade.

Boy, you know it’s bad when *Iain MacIntyre* – who’s basically a team mouthpiece – is publicly floating the idea of a buyout.

    Fresh start for everyone, please

Tank Commander Foote and his trusty Lieutenant Petey

The thing people don’t get here is the hope Petey will rebound is part of how he’s valued in a trade right now. The longer we keep him and other GMs watch him not rebound the lower his value will continue to go.

It’s the same as when people want to hold onto a prospect to give them one more year – sure not a bad idea, but if they don’t show big growth in that year their value declines because that’s what other teams were banking on.

Ship him out. I don’t care anymore.

He needs to go somewhere else. I want him to succeed. But it’s clear that he won’t find his game here.

Can you still call it a slump after two seasons?

  8. Largebargecharge

Listening to Landon Ferraro talk about EP40 makes me want to pull my hair out

  9. Own_Truth_36

This team has been perpetually handicapping themselves for the past decade with buy out penalties. Just so deflating.

Pettersson is taking most of the heat, but Boeser in year one of a 7×7.25 is just as brutal. I imagine we’d need to retain to trade him too.

  11. niht_awl

We should’ve accepted that Necas deal 😭

  12. howardewing

Did we forget that we are purposely tanking?
Brock and Petey are playing up to expectations.

  13. If you are talking buyout or retained this seems like management signalling what could happen.

  14. Caffeine-n-Chill

He just can’t be bringing a good culture into the locker room

How the fuck did we even get her? I went from being the biggest Petey Stan, with multiple jerseys of his, to wishing we’d get rid of him. One of the craziest downfalls in nhl history & there is no medical explanation for it. Dude just got the yips or some shit. Unbelievable.

  16. We already got OEL buyout in book, Petey buyout is nonsense

  17. 604BigDawg

Yes. Maybe after three full years of garbage he’ll find his game. Come on. Get rid of him for a bag of pucks.

  18. Impossible-Run-8016

Either trade him with no retention or keep him and own the mistake. As a former Petey optimist(envisioning him being elite for years) this is a hard pill to swallow but the guy seemingly just doesn’t have it in him.

  19. niht_awl

I wouldn’t even call it a slump.. he just doesn’t care and is lazy af.

  20. Just 2 weeks ago people in the Olympic thread were saying “Where’s all the #40 haters at now?” after 1 game where he scored. He has one good game every few months and you know they’ll be back the next time he scores (it’s been 13 games since the last time)

  21. Jealous_Difference44

I was done with him last year. I expected nothing, so Im not dissapointed. This is who he is

  22. I like Petey, but his time here is done. I can’t wait for the team to trade him so I don’t have to see everyone complain about one guy.

  23. swepttheleg

If we’re selling him at an all-time low, it can’t have any retention. If

  24. sonic_spark

He’s checked out. Most of the team is going through the motions.

  25. OneOfAKind2

I mock him regularly when we watch games, but I DO want him to succeed. Maybe he needs more money. He only makes $141,463 per game. Let that sink in.
